Yeah some budget aftermarket carbs are super cheap online. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense to try cleaning one out. Just replace the entire thing, by the time you buy a gasket kit for the original one. |

| Yeah the carb that was on this engine was pretty far gone, having sat outside for so long. Chances are it wouldn't have been an easy task to get it working again haha. _______________________________________________ "This'll either wake you up or put you to sleep forever!"- Red Green "Whatever you do you should do right, even if it's something wrong." - Hank Hill - MTD Off-Road Build - Ford LT 110 Off-Road Build - Craftsman GT 6000 Off-Road Build - Allis B-110, 710 & 716 - Wheel Horse 655 & 953 - Case 444 - Bolens Versamatic & 1668 - Cub 106 & 124 - Ford LGT 125 & 145 - |

| Sooooo...... not trying to jinx myself or anything, but I found a running replacement engine for this thing SUPER close to me for $200. Seems like a good deal to me! Since mine has some problems, I'll just keep it for a parts engine and drop this one right in instead. Almost looks to have come out of the same machine really, haha. Hopefully I can score it!

Horizontals that size are hard to find. That one even has the engine plate on it! _______________________________________________ Li'l RED my original modified tractor!Forum Admin -- Chat Admin-- Facebook Page Admin ATLTF Facebook Page -- How To Upload PicturesHave a question? | I don't know man. $200 could buy a lot of other tractor parts. Have you really seen this $200 motor run? What would it really take to get the engine you have running nice? |

| Well in the ad it says it runs, I'm just hoping someome wouldn't lie about something like that but yeah never know. I dont think the carb I put on my engine is compatible because this engine will not run right no matter what I do, it has quite a knock on the right hand cylinder and I'm not really sure what the cause is (but it sounds a bit like piston slap) and the starter just gave out on it. A new starter would be close to $100 I belive, and I closed the deal today for $175 on this engine. I'm thinking its not too bad of a deal really. You are right Carl, $200 would buy a good amount of tractor parts hahaha. But this seems like a decent deal to me.

| $175 sounds like a good deal. If you're old one has a bad knock I would remove the engine, forget about it, and move on to the next one. |

| Yeah, especially considering what I paid for the tractor! Hahaha. The idea is basically to swap this engine in and keep the other one for parts.

| Yeah this one has a twist right off of the engine pulley and then runs parallel to the frame. It seems to work pretty good and it has a double pulley clutch as well.

| Hahaha, I would love to do some sort of custom exhaust. Gotta figure out how though, its kinda tight for room on this rig.

| Yeah haha, I definitely got lucky on this one! Something tells me you guys want me to do dual exhaust on this thing, haha. Might a quiet kinda setup though, this one's more of a worker.

| Run dual exhausts with “pro street” mufflers lol. It will sound tame but should have a nice bark. |

| Go 2 into 1 with a 2 inch autozone glasspack or something. Could probably get one from work pretty easily. Something to take the edge off but still let er sing |

This but without the autozone bullsh*t, get it from literally anywhere else but that sh*thole. Or even better, make your own glasspack from a propane cylinder. Don't blow yourself up! |

| Naw I wanna do a 2-into-1 on the Ford, so this one should get duals. I could really just cut the mufflers off both engines and use one per pipe.

| Duals sound really good on the Kohler Magnums from what I can tell. Seen one on a wheel horse on facebook with dual stacks, sounded pretty sweet.
My Snapper lt16 with a 16hp Briggs opposed has a muffer for each cyl, sounds sorta like a harley. Mutt used the same mufflers and it sounded good too, but the side dump thing made it sound like a single when you were standing to one side lol. |

| Yeah we'll have to see what I end up doing, I'm more concerned with getting the engine in the tractor and getting it driving again before I mod it too much. On another note I found an ad for a Kohler Magnum 20 horse that needs a starter for sale for $600! I'm sure glad I found this one first! | Just got back from picking up the big Magnum! It's definitely complete! Appears to be in good shape too. Apparently when it was in the tractor it was taken to Campell's every year, which is a small engine place in my area, to be serviced. I also got the complete wiring harness and muffler with it! Seems like I got a pretty good deal. Hoping to get 'er in the tractor and running soon!
