| Looks good! I find it funny how everyone on here(including me lol) changes their exhausts like once a year, I guess we get tired of them after a while. Nothing wrong with that, I say! |

| I agree with AK though. Even if loud, the deeper tones don't seem to hurt the ears much. It's what I love about Li'l Red. Very throaty tone. _______________________________________________ Li'l RED my original modified tractor!Forum Admin -- Chat Admin-- Facebook Page Admin ATLTF Facebook Page -- How To Upload PicturesHave a question? | I know what he means. One of these days I'll get Mutt's exhaust extension back on to get some of the good throaty tone back. |

| Haha, it's all good Mighty. Thanks Rich, yeah it's nice to re-fresh something simple like exhaust every now and then, haha. I actuall cleaned it all up and threw some paint at it today: Rather disappointed with how it turned out... Unfortunately after the wire wheel went over the down pipe I found out how rotten the steel actually was, as you can see by the awful pitting and holes. Too bad, but I can chop it off up closer to the collector and weld a nicer piece on sometime, for now it'll do. It still sounds great! Hahaha. _______________________________________________ "This'll either wake you up or put you to sleep forever!"- Red Green "Whatever you do you should do right, even if it's something wrong." - Hank Hill - MTD Off-Road Build - Ford LT 110 Off-Road Build - Craftsman GT 6000 Off-Road Build - Allis B-110, 710 & 716 - Wheel Horse 655 & 953 - Case 444 - Bolens Versamatic & 1668 - Cub 106 & 124 - Ford LGT 125 & 145 - |

| Been messing around alot with the old garden tractors lately tilling up the ground and what not, so I haven't been doin as much wheeling with the ol' MTD. Well today I figured I'd get 'er fired up and out for some off-road action! Went messing around in the woods trail first and had an issue that I don't think I've ever had before: Had a big stick come up and knock my clutch spring off! I was just kinda crawling along when I heard a funny noise from underneath and we quit moving. Kind of an odd thing, haha. Anyway I was able to put it back on and keep on motorin', maybe it's time for a belt protection plate? Then I went into the pasture behind the house and did some crawling on the dirt piles and a bit of cruising around: Had to wiggle it out of this spot by hand 'cuz it kept trying to roll over on me: Found two little 12" or so stumps that happened to be spaced apart the same as my front wheels, so naturally I tried to climb the fronts on top of them. She didn't quite feel like it though, haha. Then finally I visited my favorite crawling spot for the first time in forever and did some scewing around there: So no new modifcations as of late. Might try and figure out some sort of removable plate to protect the belt though, after that little incident today, haha. Having lots of fun!

| Couple more off-road shots today: This ol' girl needs a new battery big time. I swapped an automotive one into it when I put the first oppy in, but it was a used battery and it's gotten so weak now it won't even take a charge. Not really a huge deal though, I have a pull start cup on this one and it starts real nice with that. I'll have to get a new battery in 'er though so I can crank it with the key once again, haha.

| Well I brought the ol' MTD up to the barn for a little work this evening: She's seen a lot of hours off-road with very little maintence, so I figured it was time, haha. I started by taking the rear wheels and skidplate off so I could check the transaxle mounts, axle bearings, gear oil, and clean all the mud out of spots. Made a bit of a mess, apparently it's been a while since I've done this. Hahaha. The skidplate had been doing it's job quite well too! So anyhow, I tightened up a few thing and topped up the oil in the transaxle. One bearing is showing some play but it's nothing too serious. I found a spot that needs some welding but I ran out of daylight, so that will be tomorrow morning's job. I have some other plans I'd like to work out, but we'll see how far I go with it. Haha.

| Yeah I'd say you've done a good job at getting 'er dirty! Ya know, I should probably put a skid plate on mine. I'm always worrying about sticks getting wedged in the fan and busting it... That'd fix most my problems wouldn't it... What kind of transaxle does she have? |

| Haha, yeah I suppose I did.
It used to have the usual vari-drive and FNR setup, but now it has a Peerless 600 3-speed transaxle. My favorite, haha.

| Well even though I just got my second running Allis garden tractor, I still remember to get the off-roaders out and about! Hit some nice scenic trails: Had lots of fun! Some real challenging spots, but it was a great time and everything held up fine! Well.. that is until I went to go back up the hill to leave: Yepper. Make a dumb mistake at the top of hill and ended up at the bottom awfully quick, haha. We used the ol' 15 to get back home: Got it back up to the yard to have a quick look-see The damage toll isn't actually too extensive, the biggest thing was the tie rod braking really. I need another retainer for the left spindle too now, as you can see, haha. Other than that the grille is pretty well screwed, and the engine doesn't wanna fire. All stuff I can look into really. So yeah, kinda sucks. But I can tinker away at it and get 'er back to operating condition eventually. Guess I should've left 'er in the shed!

| Oh no! You'll get it going again soon. Are you going to have to do a GT6k style grill for it? Can't really tell if the grill is completely demolished or not. _______________________________________________ Li'l RED my original modified tractor!Forum Admin -- Chat Admin-- Facebook Page Admin ATLTF Facebook Page -- How To Upload PicturesHave a question?
