Transmition and Frame update! Its all out! so it took me about 3 days to get everthing out, and i need to order $60 worth of broken parts, fan, bushings, etc. but the hydrostatic trans is definetly staying in this build, more rust than i wanted to see, but enough that its not a major problem. i am going to repain it, its getting new stickers all around, and its getting a new seat. otherwise enjoy the dissasembly photos here is the frame with only the hydro lift, and trans left on it. this is the "power pack" of the ford it has the hydro resivour it is around 2 gallons, and it has the Eaton 850 transaxle. i dont have the exact model of the eaton but i do know that it is the heavy duty model bc, of some extra spacing of axles and the 1inch axles instead of 3/4. here is 1 of the 2 boxes of parts this box has all of the steering and seat-pan parts, the other box has all of the linkages to everything, brakes, hydro foot petal, etc. more photos and cleaning to come soon!

That trans looks like a good unit. Nice that it has the spin on oil filter, that's always a sign of a good hydro.

i had to print off a 80 page manual for the trans just to understand it. there is no differential in it so im at a loss on how to make it have a locked diff, ive experimented with its manual blowoff valve, so i think there is a way to adjust it to work without its differential properties. (if that makes any sense)

hmmm, IDK I wouldn't tamper with the hydro, just routine stuff like changing fluid and filter. You don't want to cause it to overheat.

im actualy thinking of puting on a cooler, there is room and it can be done rather easily, the hydro can take what im doing with it. i just need to make it run at a lower temp.

It'd be cool to have an oil cooler. Could you fit it by the fan?

I have less than an inch of space above the fan. BUT I am most likely lifting the ford by and inch or two. Video and photos coming tomorrow! Plus new parts for the engine!

Reviving a dead thread here but I thought I should post an update. everything is painted and assembled. Current situation is remaking a more reliable wiring harness, fixing my steering issues, and fixing the alternator and flywheel.

magnets on the flywheel came off and destroyed the stator windings for the alternator. ended up shorting the harness in the stator and melting some of the wiring as well.
