I'm new here so sorry if I dont know what I'm doing, but this is my 1969 Wheel Horse 700 Work Horse that I call Brutus. I've been working on it since late November 2017. Little run down on what I've done to it and spec's.
- honda gx240 engine (8hp)
-18x7-8 sunf front tires
-25x11-12 440 mag off road rear tires
-locked trans( just flipped the gears around)
-3.5 inch engine pulley and a 4 inch on the transaxle (does 8mph)
-paint is rustoleum international harvester red and gloss black
-murray widebody seat and springs
-uni drive 3 speed transaxle (has the weaker 1 inch axles and 4 pinion diff Neutral )
-gas pedal
-wheel spacers
-wheel studs and lug nuts (instead of lug bolts)

Cant really think of anything else but if you've got questions ask away and I'll try to get back with you as soon as I can 1969 Wheel Horse 700 WORKHORSE 2731072446!

Thanks guys! Yep I'm gonna have to work on some floor boards, it would help alot when your trying to lean forward going up a steep hill and probably would prevent yer leg from getting sucked under the tires and face planting the steering wheel. affraid

1969 Wheel Horse 700 WORKHORSE 15595710

So today I decided to work on my gas pedal some and get rid of that zip tie but this is pretty much how I made it. Just a 3/8 rod that fit nice into the original wheel horse pedal ( used to engage the deck) then I welded a washer to the end of the rod to hold the spring in place and with some homemade locking collars you can adjust the rod left to right.

I think the engineers at wheel horse wanted to put a gas pedal on them but it just never could happen. They pretty much give you everything you need, the spring and the pedal are both original parts. Smile

Here's a better look at how I made the locking collars. Basically just a 3/8 nut with the threads drilled out and then the ends were drilled and tapped for a 8/32 set screw.

Great work on the foot throttle! My 655 Horse has the same pedal for the deck engagment, pretty neat. You got a real nice looking rig there!

Thanks AllisKid! Very Happy I'm glad im not the only one on here with one of these 60s wheel horses. I'll try and find some pictures of when I first got it. It was REALY rusted out more than what I thought but also had a bunch of 654 parts on it. I think the guy who owned it used 2 to make 1 goodish one.

These pictures are when I fist got it...….its come along way since then. Also the engine that's on it in the picture isn't the original engine it was just a kohler k181 that was lying around so I just shoved it in there because idk it looked empty without it. Very Happy

The rear rims were rusted out because the tires were full of salt water and they weren't tubed. No Also when I was trying to keep the patina and was sanding the hood I accidentally shoved my fingers through the hood and the trunk/dash tower where it was so rusty. 1969 Wheel Horse 700 WORKHORSE 2429134702 So I ended up deciding to paint it so it wouldn't get worse and welded in some new sheet metal.

The transmission was the worst part though I didn't realize it but it was full of water and had no oil in it at all.Crying or Very sad so I had to replace every bearing and seal which was expensive but worth it. I tried looking for a twin stick 8 speed rear end or 6 speed (depending on who you ask) to swap into it (there better built). but in my area there isn't a lot of old garden tractors and especially not parts for them so I would of had to buy a tractor for it and people around here think their junk is worth millions. So I just stuck with what I had.

Well I got my gas pedal all painted and a hole drilled for the cable. It's a lot more responsive now.

Oooh, do I spy a pair of old John Deeres in the first picture? They appear to be either a pair of 110s and one of them has wheel spacers, or a 110 and a 140.

Yep there both John Deere's the one closest to the wheel horse (the one with v treads) is my 1973 110 and the one in the very front is a 112L lawn tractor that does not belong to me. As far as wheel spacers neither one of them does I just have the rims flipped around on my 110 so it gives it a wider stance. Smile

Nice tractor! Yeah it makes them look way more meaner. I like the ag tires on the front. I'm gonna have to find another rim for mine because it's got an odd ball one on it.

I've been working on a front bumper. Basically just a piece of 2 by 2 square tube about 14 inches long and cut at angles on the end......dont remember the angles I cut them at but I filled it full of sand and capped the ends with 12 gauge. Hopefully this will help keep the frontend on the ground cause right now it's a wheelie machine which is cool but not going up hill. affraid

So for the exhaust I've got some 1 1/8 inch pipe from the handle to a dolly. Should allow it to breath alittle better. Then I'm gonna step it up to a 2 inch piece of pipe and dump it before the rear axle.1969 Wheel Horse 700 WORKHORSE 15597514

The only complaint I have is the shifter boot on these suck. Basically if you go anywhere deeper than about mid ways up the tractor 9 times out of 10 you've got water in the trans. So these things like to have there gear oil changed.
