| Well, here goes Part 2 of my MTD build! I thought a long time, if I should make a new thread of it, but decided, YES! Well, I'm kinda struggling with myself the last months, and have a not so nice time, .............. BUT back to Topic! MTD will get some changes! Since I have the crappy parts mower, the MST 206 outta a Murray Widebody that's currently into MTD has to go! I will store the MST and swap the 5 speed Spicer into the MTD. It gets oil filled. Another change of MTD is that I will buy a new Battery for it and swap the shrouds back, so it has the stock shroud with no pull starter again. The Snow Plow I have will still get rebuilt and mounted! Might get some better rear tires or keep it on turfs! And the MTD sadly has to GO in spring or summer since I have way too much rigs! here's the old Thread: https://www.atltf.com/t5685-mtd-rasentrac-b10-garden-and-offroad-mower-2018-build-off-entryand here are some pics of the MTD from the past days: I ripped it through the snow and kinda abused it! Tried drifting on the road and almost flipped it several times.... The drifting fun actually kinda brought me back, cuz I was just 95% before of deciding to QUIT MOWER MODDING!!! so.... HERE WE GO AGAIN!!! | |

| Plans for the MTD sound good. Pull starts are always handy on a mower, and they're pretty rare on Briggs singles. You should get a decent price when you come to sell it. | |

| Sounds like a plan. Switching out the transaxles is a good idea. Whoever buys it will probably only cut the grass and plow with it, which is all light duty work. I have a Foote 5 speed in mine and still is in working order with the vari drive setup, and I was pulling cars and a van around the yard with it last summer.
Should get a great price for it, since everything is rebuilt and in working order.

Yah, and with the extra gearing in it, one would think that it would be worth more also.

I have over 1k now in that rig, and prolly end up with a 0 Profit sale, or just minimal Profit, but lets hope for the best! - prancstaman wrote:

only 1 Mower drives rn (MTD) and I ripped it on the road when it was 1" of snow on there and drifted it and crashed multiple times into the snow banks on the sides. Hopefully the Widebody is done til next winter so I can rip a real offroad mower in the snow. Turfs dig in after 1feet of driving in the snow.

| I pulled the Spicer outta the POS mower so I need to rebuild it soon and swap it out with the MST! Might reset the Muffler to stock mode too since I need the Glasspack for my AYP and i'm too lazy to build a new 1! | |

For Sure! Otherwise I hadnt opened it but since I run my MST with a 3:2 Pulley Swap from the Varidrive most of the time the grease wont lube good enough since it spins prolly 10times faster than stock! - MightyRaze wrote:

| Since I ripped the MTD for a few small rides in the Yard & @Crazy_Carl was uploading the nice Pics of his JD with a MTD Hood I kinda think about keeping it as a Memory with what I started building Junk & wasting Money! That thing is so much fun to drive!
Prolly buying some ATV Tires or AGs for it now, cuz the Turfs spin all the time! Thinking about @MowerJunkie03 's SUNFs cuz I dont want too much force goin on with the Spicer & the Varidrive!

| Time to make some Progress on the MTD! I got a Message from a Bud, that wanted a reliable Mower that is be able to mow and Plow, and had some Interesting Stuff to trade with me, so I thought, which mower I could give him, & then I realized the only Mower that would work for him & is less work to get ready for me, would be the MTD! So that motivated me somehow to get it fninished! I used the bad Weather (Cold, Rainy, Thunderstorms,... ) to Rebuild the Spicer! The Heating Oil cleaned the Grease up pretty good! Reassembled everything, but hadnt cleaned everything to hospital clean grade, since it would get dirty soon again! Slapped some Gear Oil in it (1/4 used, 3/4 new) & sealed it up! Prolly slapping it into the MTD next Weekend, since I need the Sunday to chill! | |

| Ok since the Spring time is coming & my Bud wants the Mower running & I want my parts of the Trade, I worked a bit more on the MTD today! Pulled the MST outta the MTD! Its gotten pretty dirty & the case started to oxide! (was just 3/4 Year in it...) Got the Spicer swapped in (bolted right in no problems whatsoever) Need to realign the Rear Pulley & build a new shifter for it (The Widebodys Input Shaft was 1/2" longer than the Spicers & the MST had the long shifter rod the Spicer has the short 1) Guess I can get that Crap done tomorrow! | |

| Got the SPICER SWAP FINISHED! Extended the shifter arm cuz the MST had the long shifter Swapped the Rime & tires that came with the Widebody on it cuz they're almost new & clear the deck & bagger without problems Shifting system & Spicer fits pretty well Took that POS Mower to a test ride & its a bit slower than with the MST, but all in all it works fine... Got parts from part 1 of my Trade so I guess MTD will leave me soon! I'm happy when its gone cuz I had my fun with it but rn I'm sick & tired of it & just want it gone! | |
