Little update on this thread since it's been a while. Obviously the Bolens ended up getting a Yanmar diesel conversion and has been working great:

I'll have to update that thread later, but she's a real nice machine!

Aaaannnd I guess I'll count this as a garden tractor, because it is technically classified as one.

Husqvarna GT2254. Has the 122 series 6-speed trans and a Briggs ELS 22hp V-twin. Runs but needs a carb rebuild (as they all do, haha.) I got the 54" deck with it but it needs some work. I was planning on keeping it around for some reason, but I actually have someone who wants to buy it so I will eventually end up fixing it and selling it off.

Lastly, I was officially a member of the Diesel Sears Club for a short while!   Never thought I would say that....

Not sure of the model, but it had a 4hp Yanmar in it! Really ot a bad little tractor all the jerry-rigging aside, haha. I had it running and driving for a little bit but I really only bought it for the diesel, so I ended up removing it and selling the tractor to my cousin.

But anyways, that's about all that's new with the ol' tractor collection. Although here might be some more toys coming home with me here soon, if it works out I'll be sure to post another update!

Husqvarna shouldn't be much different than a craftsman GT6000.  Looks to be in nice shape.  That sears looked to be a custom.  Good score on the engine, don't blame ya selling the tractor.  I'm more of a Suburban guy myself.  :-)

Excited to see what other toys you may bring home!

Yeah it's the same idea as a GT6000. It's even more top heavy though if that's possible, haha. Take a corner in third hi at full throttle and one rear wheel would come off the ground.  Shocked

The Sears was actually a nice little tractor, bit since the hood and grille were missing I wasn't all that interested.

I definitely kept an eye on that bugger when it was on the trailer, just waiting for it to fly off, hahaha.

Well fellas, this weekend I finally did something I've been wanting to do for a while now, involving my Cub Cadet 106:

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200812

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200811

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200810

Yessir, a pull behing mower deck! I've pretty much been wanting to do this since I got the Cub, being that it has the rear PTO. The deck is from an old Walker mower, it is completely shaft driven so I figured it'd be the perfect candidate for this build.

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200813

Pretty simple setup as you can see, I used half of the original shaft and slider from the Walker, and half of a 540 spline PTO shaft from an old spreader. Then the tounge is pretty straight forward. I welded it to the upper frame of the deck so that I can still use the factory height adjustment pins.

It does work pretty good too! It's a little on the slow side however, so I'm planning on adding a jack shaft right next to the main gearbox and running a chain and sprockets to speed it up a bit. Hopefully that fixes it.

Anyways I figured I'd show this in here, I'm pretty happy to say I actually made work, haha. Let me know what you think.

Interesting little setup there AK.  I'm guessing the PTO runs a little slow as you said?

Thanks fellas. The PTO is a 540 spline but I'm not sure of the RPMs. Doesn't seem quite as slow as 540 but it could be.

Either way the jackshaft setup I have planned should fix it no problem.

Pretty cool. What I want is some sort of side hill mower. I've got some steep hills that are a real pain to mow. One in particular.

With the jackshaft setup you could take a but of angle off of those u joints, that would probably be good for them.

Thanks mr mod. A side hill mower would be pretty handy to have.

Yeah the universals should be a lot happier with the jackshaft setup I imagine.

Anyways I mentioned a while ago that I was possibly bringing some more goodies home and a couple weeks ago I went and picked the stuff up that I was talking about.

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200816

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200815

Good ol' truck load of parts! Might be a K Series or two in there as well. Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 1098998679

Then a couple tractors. One that I knew would run, and one in pretty rough shape:

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200814

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200817

First one is a real nice '72 Ford LGT 145 (has the wrong hood) This one used to be a grass cutter so I got the deck with it which is in great shape. All I had to do to get 'er to talk was drain the old gas, clean the carb bowl out, and shine up the points a bit. It runs and drives great but needs to be cleaned up a bit, also needs a seat but I have an original Ford seat for it. It's pretty much the same as my LGT 125 but it has the K321 engine and hydraulic attachment lift.

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200819

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200818

This ol girl is a rough one for sure, but I'm pretty sure it is an Ariens S12. I always wanted one of these tractors and this was something that was more or less throw in with the deal. I have the engine that came from it so it is actually fairly complete minus the body panels, but it would take a lot of TLC to make this one work again. However I would like to give it a try because these are awesome machines. We'll see what happens!

So that was the stuff I planned to buy, but of course as I was gathering the stuff I spotted some other treasures so I brought home a couple extras:

First is this real neat two gang disk like you would buy at TSC or what have you

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200821

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200820

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200822

Pulls nicely behind the diesel Bolens and I had it behind my Case for a little while too.

Lastly are these threes beauties, not exactly tractor related but still:

Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 20200823

More for that colletion too! lol!

So anyhow, that's the latest haul. I'm pretty happy with this one
I shouldn't run short of projects anytime soon, haha. Let me know what ya think!

Looks like a pretty darn good haul there! Them K-Series are hard to come by around here. I reckon everyone that has one uses it, cant say I blame them though them K-Series are hard to beat! Always good to have a few or 12! Garden Tractor Collection - Page 2 2731072446

Side note: My father has that same Homelite chain saw!

Thanks Blake! Yeah I'd say I made out pretty well, haha. Most of the engines are more for parts, but a couple are almost ready to run again.

I'm assuming you're talking about the red Homelite, it's a Super XL 130. It was the first one I got running and she's definitely a mean old saw!
