Been fiddling with the 9n. It just isn't right in the Carb. I barely touch the highspeed jet and it wants to die, low speed appears to work fine. I know the gasket is torn inside so I know gas is leaking probably to the wrong areas. I know it is missing the manifold gasket. The other day I was watching a rebuild video and quickly realized. The carb is MISSING SOME INTERNAL PARTS! Yikes! And it runs that good without?
I toyed with the idea of a $30 Chinacarb, or a rebuild kit. I decided to do the right thing and rebuild it since the carb appears to be in good shape. Not sure when it will get here. Got me a new sediment bowl as the one I have is somewhat ok, but the rubber plunger is shot. I may rebuild that for later.
@MightyRaze yeah rebuild kit is way better then a cheap online carb. I rebuilt my carb of my great grandfathers 1963 International Harvester 404 Utility Tractor. After fixing the I still have a list of stuff to fix. Hasn't ran in 3.5 years.

Got my carb kit finally today in the mail. I was smart and tore into it by halfs. In the top half it was missing the idle jet and an economizer jet. Choke rod was busted and missing a screw. Choke spring was ran wrong. Both the throttle and choke shafts were missing packing gaskets. Main jet needle was missing a washer and gasket.
Runs MUCH better now. I still have not completely dialed it in yet.
Does the cylinder powering the arms run on trans oil? I think thats how the Deeres in the same era did it. Early hydraulics on tractors was really a lawless hellscape, lol.

The trans and the pump for the arms run on the same hydraulic oil.
It didn’t run too well but it ran with those parts missing. I should have video’d today; I was running it today pretty good. Noticed the governor screw is missing. I got a couple implements for it from my father in law. I was using the blade to push my tree pile together.
It was missing a governor bolt so it would start to race at times. I could not figure out or find a bolt that would fit the threads on the governor. I tapped it to a common bolt size this morning and installed a bolt. Now to figure out where to initially set it. Need to look at a manual for that.
The old 9N gave out this weekend pushing limbs. I shut it down and it would not restart. Fuel delivery is good, but spark is not quite right. I checked the points, and they were fine, but something is not right with the distributor. If I mess with the cap, I can alter the spark. That and it appeared to have been running on 2 cylinders when I shut it down. Plug wires 3 and 4 seem shot and corroded.
I'll get me a tune up kit that contains plugs wires and a new distributor cap. See how that goes.
I know plug 3 was bad corroded and not touching the terminal. I should have the tune up kit tomorrow. 4 plugs, wires, points condenser and cap with rotobug. I'll try to install Sunday if it does.
For the lack of not being able to do much, I am hoping to record a 9N update tomorrow. It has been down and not running for just over a month. Especially right now while I needed it most. My back has been horrible for the past month. Hoping to get something accomplished next week or have a plan to fix on that.
