Hey, what oil should i use. i know its sae 30, but i dont know if its detergent on not, im not wanting to spend over 5 bucks on a quart. so yeah
10W 30, 10W 40, or sae 30 like you said from Walmart. If you want synthetic and all that that's up to you, but I usually run the cheapest conventional oil I can find unless the motor has a knock or something. If it does or is just kinda worn out, then run 10W 40.
Also, IDK if Walmart still carries it, but I believe it's cheaper for the 5 quart.
The engine, what @Murraymountain said... For the transaxle, any non-detergent SAE 30. I've busted a factory unit open and it had SAE 30 Bar and Chain oil. Good and sticky. Stay away from normal "detergent" oils for the trans. Oh, and to fill it faster, put it in neutral and pop off the gear shifter and go in that way. The filler will take FOREVER!

I am hoping to get to the offroad park on thanks giving break, november 22,23,or 24th. I still have quite a few things to do. heres a list
-pulley swap(big one, involves getting 4 holes drilled in a hubless pulley because it bolts onto the engine, and i dont have a drill press, and it needs to be pretty symetrical.)
-hook up offroad lights -fix winch cap(thing is loose, just needs some sort of glue substance) -Make sure all bolts are tight -find a place to mount ammo box(not too important. -put red stripe on other side of hood -test pulley swap
I think thats it im excited to get to the offroad park, theres a few things i still have to do after i go like fix the steering slop, but i dont have time for those right now. Any suggestions on anything to do would be appreciated

If you are doing the hood stripe red on the other side, I say paint both sides of the stripe and the rims red. I think it would look pretty minty but thats my 2c

i was working on my skid plate with it still mounted, the angle grinder with the cutting wheel kicked up and sawed through the belt, so i guess thats motivation to get it pulley swapped sooner

fixed half the steering slop by putting a washer that i made thinner on the bell crank shaft, that kept if from moving side to side inside of the bushing, gonna fix another half of the remaining slop with 2 washers on the sector gear shaft, keeping that for moving too. Seems like im doing all the things that weren't on the list or weren't important, but those are the easier ones and the ones that don't need parts.

I do that all the time! With so many "tasks" being time consuming and ongoing it's nice to tackle small, quick things and feel like progress has been made, just like the headlights on The Warhorse . Wasn't even planned I just got the idea in my head and decide to run with it! Lol
pulley swap is going on this weekend, involves getting 4 holes drilled in pulley, custom belt guards, belt guard, speed testing, and possible wheelies!
