Putting this here because I may put knobies on and upgrade the sus some.
So, a couple of months ago, I aquired this cute little Craftsman for $25, for parts. Unfortunately, nothing on it will fit the GT18 (I kinda knew that but hey it was $25). It was being sold because some parts (deck and random engine parts) had been cr@ck headed. So far, I've put in the big 18.5 hp Intek, and got it running good. Now I just need a belt and I can drive it around some. Will have one tomorrow. It has the 6-speed Peerless. The steering is shot. That stupid plastic thing that you all know about is shot. Debating whether to do the 1st Gen gearbox, or the Volkswagen box. If I do the Beetle-box, I won't have to modify the ?drag link? I guess it would be.
Anyway hehere it is:

Not sure on the VW box. 2nd gen steering from a step thru body is good steering and what you want to replace yours with. What you have is 1st gen steering. You can just replace the plastic bushing in it and get some more use out of it.
I vote for a nice 5” to 5” pulley swap to get you started

[adm]I was thinking this was about a little green Craftsman, not weld bragging? [/adm]
Gotta have the admin threat, huh? But we'll be getting back to the LGC soon. BTW what are that kind called? I haven't seen any kind of nameplate or model on it anywhere. I'll get the actual number from under the seat.
