Dynamark offroad mower

This is my dynamark that I pulled from a shed after 20 years. I built it with 27 inch rear tires. This is the 1st tractor i ever built. Unfortunately the 930 transaxle broke yesterday so a build is to come in the spring


I plan on replacing the 12hp Briggs with a 20hp opposed twin and adding different wheels and tires and possibly an 820.

Cool mower dude I like the low and wide stance! Ouch... that hurts, get er fixed so we can see more! Lol

The wide stance mowers seem to always snap the axles, too much stress I guess

The Wheels may come back on a future project but I am unsure at this point

You could probably make a brace to hold the bottom bolts of the transmission. That way even with the wider tires it wouldn't spread out like that and crack the case.

The makers don’t plan for our rough treatment, but WE can plan for it.

A gusset and plate outside the frame could pick up all 4 bolts out there and probably prevent such mayhem. A lower cross brace could be added too.

I’ve always been of the mindset that the best way to do a setup like this is a doc locker/live axle and to put some bearings and build an axle housing out of steel tube. I don’t know if I explained that good but I hope it helps. Might be Monopoly money but it’s my 2c

A very nice model, I haven't seen such on sale for a long time. I like that you repair it yourself; rarely will anyone undertake the repair of such equipment. I usually don't mess with this and just pay specialists to fix this piece of equipment for me. I recently ordered equipment for the farm, and I hope that I will not encounter any breakage soon since I paid enough money to not know the problems. I would also like to know who of you also ordered something there and whether everything is fine with your equipment after some time

An Update of sorts, I Guess, So the dynamark has not been worked on and will be getting some upgrades soon. All I have done is move it to the barn so its not taking up any valuable room for my truck project. So Upgrades SOON!

Its has surely been a long while, Started work on the ol rig here recently. So i Decided in early august to gut one of my other tractors because she was totaled mechanically. The Old huskee ( Code name ladybug) was gutted for her wheels rear transaxle. The while it was out i had decided to pulley swap it. Using random crap lying around, i made it go about 26 mph

Anybody have an idea for breaks on this think? The tranaxle breaks do not work. Any ideas are welcome.

Ok, took the Dynamark out for a ride the other day and it definitely needs some brakes. Anybody have an idea for that?

Brakes have always been my Achilles with the shift on the go transaxles. I think @RichieRichOverdrive has had some luck upgrading.

I've seen a few good methods done. The most effective one is attaching (to the stock disc) a band brake or hydraulic disc brake to the stock location. The gear reduction of the transaxle makes those work really well. The easier method is to attach a brake rotor to the axle and add hydraulic brakes there. I have an ex250 caliper and master cylinder on Mutt and it works just kind of ok. They at least don't wear anywhere near as fast as stock brakes, at least with OEM brake pads. The advantage to hydraulic brakes in the stock location is that you can use a smaller light duty setup like that from a pit bike or moped or what have you.

Unless you've locked the rear axle brakes aren't super effective at any kind of speed or going downhill anyhow, one wheel will lock up and the other will roll and it can actually put you into a slide. I'd just try to get them working best I could, you can make new pads out of car/truck pads but be careful to not breathe in the dust created by modifying them to fit!

If you want GOOD brakes, you can install cheapo offshore atv front drums on the front wheels...I've done it but am not the first and let me tell you that they're awesome!

Did more work on the old rig this weekend, Added an old school pan seat off of an old rugg mower, built a front push bar/pick up point. Also did some clearing of some branches and man does this thing pull.

A Little Bit of an Update for you all, It has snowed here in iowa and went to ride around on the old rig and started to here some engine noise(Bottom End). I think for now I'm going to run it till it blows, then swap in an opposed twin briggs. I also ordered some led pod lights so a new front bumper is in order.

Yep, that's how we do it round here, we buy them cheap, run them into the ground and then sell them cheaper

Started tearing into the old mower this weekend after she ate a belt. Got some new lights coming today and my stickers for @MightyRaze are supposed to be here today so probably a big update later this week.
