So about a year or so ago I came across a Facebook suggested ad and it was for a massimo mini tractor. I shared it was a couple of my friends and then kind of forgot about it.
Fast forward a year and my girlfriend's son was at my house watching YouTube and stumbled across one of them on the Hudson's playground Channel. So just joking around I said to him and my daughter why are you two watching tractors on YouTube but you don't have any interest in writing tractors with me? (They have atvs but don't care much for my tractor)
They both responded with "we'd ride one of those with you. Without hesitation I ordered one.
I knew it would need some mods to actually be a usable trail "tractor" so as soon as it arrived we took it out around the property to see what it needed.
It is a 125cc automatic. They sell them as ho karts but it's all atv drive train. The only thing tractor about it is the appearance as they build it to resemble a small tractor.
As far as non-performance mods I am removing the roll bar and the stack as well as the fake air cleaner. I don't want any of that stuff sticking up to stab the kids in the face if they roll it over.
The first performance mods it will be getting is a larger rear sprocket I'm taking it from a 37 tooth up to a 60 tooth and to go that big on the rear sprocket it's going to require some swing arm modifications. I'm also moving it up from a 19 inch rear tire to a 22-in rear tire and from a 14-in front tire to an 18 inch tire. To move the front tire up on size is going to require spindle modifications so that the larger Tire will clear the Body and Frame and so that the spindle itself can handle the larger Tire.
After those modifications are complete we will see how it handles the trails and go from there.

Local farm supply company has them out front. I made a post a few months back about seeing them. Everytime I see it I can't help but think they should have been yellow instead of red.
Regardless, they appear to be a fun machine non-the-less.

They make them in green too. I really wish they'd used the same 3speed auto as they do in thier mini Jeeps.

That would be nice. You can stay in lower gear to get all the torques when needed.
I'm going to see what I can get out of it with gearing but if it comes down to it for less than $200 you can buy a brand new engine with three speed Auto for under $200.

That looks like a really cool little machine, how's it doing so far?
It is still a bit under powered. The auto transmission is a killer. I was hoping the 50t rear sprocket would be enough But with the bigger rear tires it's still needs a little lower gear So im going to go from a 12t front to 10t sprocket a d hope that's enough.
As far as how it rides now it is definitely a a good deal softer

That definitely boosts the cool factor! Lol. The semi autos are really cool, I like feeling them actually shifting unlike the CVTs, had a 2 speed for a bit and you could tell when it hit second gear!
My next big mod is going to be a front axle swap. I haven't decided exactly what my plan is, wether it will be just a pivot front, a design similar to yours, or one like @redzz02 haspin build.

I haven't really did much to this over the past couple of months but I did change the seat out andMount a spare fuel tank on the hood because my daughter and I are heading down to Kentucky next weekend to ride with giverthebeans97. I intended to address the front Axle when we return. It is solid mounted and it just doesn't work that well with it having rear suspension.
